I went to the gym today for the first time in months. I now feel worse than I did before I went. Most people do not realize that exercise is not the key to weight loss. Do not get me wrong. Exercise is very beneficial and plays an important role in weight loss and physical condition.
However, the most important aspect of weight loss is eating the right food. Think about it. How much time do you spend on physical activity? How much time do you spend eating? We spend about 10 percent of our time on physical activity and 90% of our time on food. So doesn't it make sense that if you eat the right foods at the right time, that is the best way to lose weight? Most people do not realize that you can eat more food and lose weight. It just has to be the right food and at the right intervals. I am sure you have heard that you should eat 6 small meals a day. Most people freak out when they think about eating 6 meals a day. The key word here is small. Let's not call it meals. Call it food consumption. You should consume food six times a day. Or if it is easier for you, you should eat every 2 hours.
Starting at 7:00 am, eat a bowl of oatmeal(one of the best carbs you can eat), then at 9:00 have a piece of fruit, 11:00 drink a protein shake, at lunch eat a reasonable meal(healthy sandwich with a salad and low fat dressing), 3:00 eat another piece of fruit or a protein bar, 5:00 have which ever you didn't at 3:00. Try to eat dinner no later than 7:00, once again making this a reasonable meal and small portions. Do not eat anything after 8:00 pm. Go to bed by 10:00 and get a good nights rest. Try this for 10 days and I guarantee you will lose 5 to 10 pounds.
Add 20 minutes a day of high cardio training such as running, bike riding, swimming or aerobics and the weight will begin to fall off of you.
